Orthodontic Insurance
We accept all orthodontic insurance plans with PPO benefits. While we are happy to work with your insurance provider, it's important to understand how orthodontic benefits typically function.
Orthodontic insurance often:
- Covers a lifetime maximum rather than an annual maximum
- Pays benefits over the course of treatment, not all at once
- May require treatment to be active for payments to continue
Our team will:
- Verify your orthodontic benefits
- Estimate your coverage
- File insurance claims on your behalf
- Apply payments as they are received

HSA & FSA Accounts
Orthodontic treatment is an eligible expense under most Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). Using pre-tax dollars can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket cost.
What to know:
- Braces and Invisalign are typically HSA/FSA-eligible expenses
- You can use these funds for down payments or monthly installments
- FSA funds often expire at year-end—plan ahead to maximize your benefit
- Our team can provide the documentation you need for reimbursement
Check with your employer or benefits administrator to see if you have HSA or FSA funds available.
Treatment in Progress (Transfers)
If you or your child began orthodontic treatment at another office and are transferring care, we're happy to help.
In these cases:
- Insurance benefits already used will be reviewed
- Remaining insurance coverage will be applied if available
- Treatment fees will be adjusted based on the stage of treatment
We'll clearly outline next steps and ensure continuity of care.
Flexible Payment Plans
We offer in-house payment plans tailored to your treatment type and treatment length.
Payment plans may include:
- Monthly payments aligned with treatment duration
- No interest, in-office financing
- Options for both Phase I and comprehensive treatment
Your treatment coordinator will review all payment options with you and help select the plan that best fits your needs.
Sibling & Family Discounts
We understand that orthodontic care for multiple family members adds up. That's why NorthStar Orthodontics offers courtesy discounts for siblings and families with more than one member in treatment.
Discount details are discussed during your consultation and may vary depending on treatment type and timing. Our goal is to make care as affordable as possible for the whole family.
Extended Financing Options
For patients who prefer longer payment terms than our in-office plans allow, we accept CareCredit®, a healthcare credit card that offers extended financing options.
CareCredit can be a helpful solution for:
- Longer-term monthly payments
- Balancing orthodontic care with other family expenses
