About
Meet Dr. Bonebreak
Dr. David Bonebreak is a board-certified orthodontist with extensive clinical experience spanning craniofacial deformities, trauma, complex surgical, interceptive, and standard orthodontic cases. Known for his thoughtful, detail-driven approach and calm chairside manner, Dr. Bonebreak personally coordinates treatment and remains in direct contact with all specialists involved in each patient's care. He provides personalized orthodontic care for children, teens, and adults—always with a focus on long-term health, function, and confidence.

Dr. Bonebreak's Story
Dr. Bonebreak opened his first orthodontic practice at just 27 years old, driven by a passion for precision, problem-solving, and building meaningful relationships with patients. Over the years, he has owned and operated three successful orthodontic practices in Maryland, treating a wide range of cases—from routine orthodontic care to complex surgical, trauma, and cleft palate cases.
His expertise led physicians at Johns Hopkins University Hospital to refer trauma patients to him for coordinated orthodontic and surgical care planning, a responsibility that reflects both trust and clinical excellence.
Orthodontics is also a family tradition. Dr. Bonebreak comes from a family of orthodontists—his father and sister are both orthodontists—which shaped his early appreciation for the profession and its impact on patients' lives.
A Note From Dr. Bonebreak
After many successful years practicing orthodontics in Maryland, my wife and I made the intentional decision to begin a new chapter in Prosper together.
We were drawn to the strong sense of community, the family-centered values, and the opportunity to build long-term roots in a place that feels both welcoming and grounded. As parents, we wanted our children to grow up in a community where relationships matter and where people genuinely invest in one another.
NorthStar Orthodontics was created with that same philosophy in mind.
I have always believed orthodontics should be deeply personal—not rushed, heavily delegated, or built around volume. I am committed to personally diagnosing and treating every patient, developing lasting relationships with families, and providing the kind of thoughtful, individualized care that only comes from experience and direct doctor involvement.
My family and I are incredibly grateful to now call Prosper home, and I look forward to serving this community for many years to come.

Dr. Bonebreak's Philosophy of Care
Dr. Bonebreak believes orthodontic treatment should be carefully planned, never rushed, and always individualized. He takes a long-term approach to care—considering not only alignment, but function, stability, and overall oral health.
Patients often note his exceptional memory and attention to detail. Even after treating thousands of patients, he remembers names, conversations, and subtle changes—because those details matter. His goal is for every patient to feel heard, informed, and confident throughout their treatment journey.
Honesty is at the core of everything Dr. Bonebreak does. If a patient doesn't need treatment, he'll be the first to tell them. He takes a conservative approach to early intervention—while he does offer Phase I treatment, he only recommends it when it is truly necessary. He will never recommend multiple phases of treatment when the same goal can be achieved in one. Every recommendation is made with the patient's best interest in mind, not the bottom line.
Outside the Office
Outside of orthodontics, Dr. Bonebreak enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and their two dogs. He's an avid sports fan and lifelong Maryland Terrapins supporter—and yes, a fun fact many patients love to learn: he was a breakdancer in high school.
